Twitter is great for serendipitous learning.

But you need to cultivate your network properly. The links that people post are what it's ALL ABOUT. That's where you learn the unexpected. The trick is to follow people who don't waste your time.

Since you can follow ANYBODY on Twitter just by finding their Twitter ID's that's not hard at all. So don't feel you have to be limited by people you know. Go for people who are consistently informative.
